The PowerShot G1 X from Canon replaces the G12.  It features a huge sensor, which is almost NEVER seen in a fixed lens camera of this size. In fact, it sensor is almost as big as the APS-C sensors found in DSLR cameras like the T2i and 7D (about 6x bigger than the G12)  This should be awesome for low light shooting and image quality.

Canon claims the new Digic V image processor will help deliver great dynamic range and image quality.

It features a 4x image stabilized lens, with 28mm wide angle (not as good as the standard 24mm wide angle, but not bad).
