Lightest DSLR available
Canon Rebel SL1 The Canon Rebel SL1 is the lightest DSLR we've seen weighing 407 g.

Cameras are often heavy due to all the electronics and glass packed into them, but the lighter a camera is the easier it will be to take with you. The size of the camera and it's weight are essentially correlated so understanding the different sizes is your best shot at determining the right camera if weight is important to you. The educational section discusses the pros and cons of the different sizes and the typical tradeoffs made when moving up and down in size.

Just remember: the lighter your dslr is, more parts that were once metal [like the body!] are now plastic, and the balance is gonna be terrible as soon as you through any lens with decent glass on there.
