rx100II is not made in Japan. Yes rx100II has more features than rx100, but the reliability is most important.

This review is wrong and they have the ISO's reversed. The RX100ii is the better camera - they screwed up.

The rx100 has no viewfinder. So it's the same as rx100-II.
Also rx100-II is taller - because of the flash shoe, and is thicker - because of the flip-out screen. Please correct the numbers, many sites report them wrong.

RX100ii wireless data transfer capability not considered, why?

I love my RX100. I have taken pictures in caves with just candle light and the pictures were pristine. It was heartbreaking to find out that the RX100ii was coming out only a few months after I bought mine. The flip out screen would be useful, however if the comparison favors the old one, then at $598 it is a good deal. It is worth it to pay a little extra for such a fine shooting camera that you can always have with you. After all isn't the point of photography to have the camera with you so that you take pictures?

I will wait for the third version of the RX100 before I buy one. Just one more year to save up enough money.

According to Sony, rx100II has the same 10fps and 25600 max ISO, so then I think the new rx100II would be the winner here.... http://store.sony.com/p/20.2-megapixel,-RX100/en/p/DSCRX100M2/B#specifications
