Very interesting site. Bookmarked you. I am thinking of upgrading myA55v-SLT to either the A77 or A65. The A77 is slightly ahead as I understand its a the newer of the two models. On looking at it I love the control layout and find the record button in a better situation in relation to regularly used settings buttons. I used to annoyingly clip my record button whilst composing a shot with my a55. I thought of a Nikon but it means changing all my lenses which are not cheap. Am I right do you think in considering the A77? I am retired love landscapes and wildlife including macro photography. Any opinions would be welcome.

EVF is not a weakness in my opinion. As a great reviewer stated in amazon.com "In OVF types, you see what you see in OVF but in EVF you see what the sensor sees and when you make adjustments you can see it LIVE on screen but you don't have that option in OVF's.  A77 EVF's is amoled and it is perfection.

You're right, the Sony SLT-A77 does have auto focus in video mode, in fact because of the translucent mirror it can use the phase detection focus system in video unlike most DSLRs which I hear is pretty impressive!  We've updated the comparison, thanks.

I'm pretty sure that the a77 has auto focus in video mode. Right?
