Yes, the Sony has a 10.2MP sensor, and the Olympus a 13.8MP sensor, see the tech specs, the values you're seeing are a calculated true resolution based on the sensor sizes.

The sensor sizes we have are 6.1x4.6mm for the Olympus, and 5.6x4.2mm for the Sony, see the specs.

From where you got the technical data; e.g. Sony tells to have 10 MP, sensor 1/2,4"... and Olympus: 14(!) Mp, sensor 1/2,33" CCD... ???
