This site lacks the essence , Its like comparing Ferrari to a big truck, Truck has more power so its better. It is not comparing which camera can take better photograph. The sont HX200V is lot better than P510 and also costs more.

I had the same concerns before i buy my HX100 and i am glad i excluded this 'silly' factor when making my choise !!!

Sony is doing a lot better on this type of cameras - definitely satisfied !

I tried Nikon P510 (made in china) and was not amazed, slow menus, slow everything and very loud zoom-mechanism. I quickly delivered it back to the store the next day.

Then I took home Sony HX200V, fast, responsive and excellent auto photo settings, very good white blending and natural colors.. The flash lights up a huge area and makes really nice coloring and exposure levels!

I dont even bother to think of trying any other, I stick with this nice camera that is a really good update after my old DSC-P120! (made in Japan)

What a stupid way to compare two cameras?  Popularity vote!  Yesterday checked out both cameras in a store side by side for 30 minutes.  Sony 30x zoom held up lot better for vivid vibrant colors and sharper images than Nikon's 41x.  Popularity?
