For some reason Snapsort only gives Nikon camera's the advantage that it has build-in autofocus. while it's a Nikon PROBLEM that some of their camera's HAVEN'T got build-in autofocus motor. All Pentax DSLR and Sony SLT have build-in autofocus motors, but always Nikons will have this marked as a 'pro'.
Does Snapsort get paid by Nikon?

I actually had the Nikon D7100 and had an outdoor photoshoot and got a downpour of heavy rain and it ruined by D7100 to un-repairable conditions. Saving up for the Pentax K-3, presently using the Pentax K50 Fully Weather Sealed!

yes (again) (2:53 PM, March 29, 2014)
Update: I was allowed to use both cameras In the store and the Pentax feels AMAZING. It feels its really comfortable in my hand due to the deep, (in my opinion) perfectly designed grip. The button layout makes perfect sense and because it is a little heavier it feels much more robust. did I mention that the grip feels great?
About the focusing: the Pentax is quick but it hunts sometimes and yes it makes some noise. The d7100 didn't hunt at all. Smooth, quiet and pretty accurate i guess. I find the K-3 focusing not as bad as some people claim but still not as good as Nikon's.

Overall I'm definitely gonna get the K-3 because it feels better, seems to be more durable and I like their lenses better than the Nikon Lenses. And if I want Nikon-like Lenses there still is Tamaron and Sigma.

Correction: it looks like the K3 came down in price.

You are right; there is essentially no differance in image quality between the two. Some reviewers like the Sony better and some like the Toshiba better, but in all cases they are splitting hairs. The Pentax K3 is a better built and featured camera than the Nikon 7100; the reason for the higher price tag. Both cameras demand good lenses to take advantage of there sensors. The kit lenses and super-zooms are not good enough.

No, the D7100 sensor is from Toshiba

I am a Nikon user but what i heard the Pentax k-3 should be really badass. I've just seen the reviews of TheCameraStore, Blunty and a couple video-tests so i can't confirm how awesome it really is because i didn't have the chance to test one. In my country it will take a while until the k-3 hits the market but i will totally try the Pentax AND the Nikon. (I don't really trust this site because some informations might be wrong NOT saying this page is lying or anything...)

What about the fact that the K-3 buffer can hold up to 23 RAW vs. 6 RAW for the D7100?

And how can you give Nikon points for shutter lag and not to Pentax because you don't know? Because it is virtually instant? Come on! Comparisons should be based on facts, not stupid conclusions. The whole comparison would go the other way round!

The Pentax is Fully Weather and Dust sealed at the same level as the Nikon D4, the Nikon 7100 is not. The K3 has the same quality of construction as the Nikon D300, more robust than the 7100. The image quality is essentially same for both cameras since they both use the same 24 mp Sony sensor.

Who ever did this review is clueless. The K3 is fully weather sealed against dust, rain and moisture while the D7100 has minimal sealing. Please get your facts together before doing a review like this.
