nice comparison, please don't go deep in details (Take it easy), the major difference between D5XXX and D3XXX is the rotate screen who allow you to take pictures when you can't be behind your camera. so if you think that you need this option, go with D5XXX series and just your budget who can tell you which one to purchase (D5100 or D5200 or D5300 ), but if you don't need this rotate screen choose one from D3XXX series.
i suggest Nikon D3200 for beginners in DSLR technologie, because it's simple and provide high image quality and have a low price, this mean you can invest in lenses, bag, tripod, memory cards...
don't make any buying decision till read this article: http://goo(DOT)gl/eq7LJo [replace (DOT) with "."]
who compare Nikon D3200 to D5XXX series, D7XXX and Canon camera under 700$.

It is very hard to choose between them, really really hard,I tend to go for the 5200 because of the 39 af points(but really i don't even know if it helps too much) and for the 360 " lcd display, but on the other hand the d3300 is newer, new image processor, panorama, more pictures with a single battery charge, but lacks all others, like hdr,the focus points only 11 and things like this. I really don't know what to choose and I don't have the luxury to test them somewhere.

The Nikon D3300 DSLR Camera DOES NOT have an inbuilt Auto Focus Motor in its Body. Nikon Lenses marked AF-S have an inbuilt Silent
Wave Motor (SWM) for Auto Focus and can be used for Motorized Auto Focus with the D3300 Camera. In the D3300 Single Lens Kit, the supplied 18-55mm Lens is an AF-S Lens. In the Double Lens Kit the supplied 55-200mm Lens is also an AF-S Lens. Both perform Motorized Auto Focus with Silent Wave Motors built inside the Lenses. Auto Focus to Manual Focus (A-M) Switchover and Vibration Reduction (VR) functionality is also available in both these Lenses.

In the comparison between D3300 vs D5200, snapsorts indicates that D3300 has the advantages over the D5200, one of them is that D3300 has built in motor for focusing. I believe that D3xxx and D5xxx has no motor in the body for focusing.
