I just wanted to point out the that Lumix shoots 1080i, not 1080p... from the Panasonic website:

1920x1080 pixels,NTSC Mode: NTSC model: 60i (AVCHD, FSH: 17Mbps / FH:13Mbps)
1280x720 pixels,NTSC Mode: NTSC model: 60p (AVCHD Lite, SH: 17Mbps / H:13Mbps) / 30fps (Motion JPEG)
