If you use the canon 60D in the right way (ie shooting manual mode) and use the right lenses, its a better camera as you get better image quality with it. I don't like its video fuctions..it sucks. I've used both, Sony cams generally has slower autofocus, really great image colour which I admire but that's something I can correct on lightroom with other cameras. its all about image quality..

              So true Nandish...
I own an A57 and it is a beast when it comes to low light video performance...
The Focus Peaking itself kicks every other counterpoint out...
Also when you say that there are more no: of lenses available for Canon...that is just dumb...the ones that you expect to be used by semi-pro users...they both have them...
Then comes the fact that with Canon you have to go for expensive lenses with stabilization...not an issue AT ALL with the A57...the cheapest of lenses from Tamron etc work wonders...Sensor Shift Stabilization baby...
I would any given day pick up a SONY Alpha Series...

How do you decide Canon 60D is winner when STL 57 has so many advantages over Canon. Apart from a bigger body , better battery, shutter speed and of course, the choice of lenses, technically SLT A57 is a better buy
