I own both of these models and I do prefer the nikon d3200... It's simply better. it's newer it has better image quality. People used to tell me than canons are over all better than nikons BUT this actually stands only for the expensive models where the difference is there and easy to be noticed by anyone ! These two are low budget starter Dslrs and there is not that much of a difference between them that could be spotted in your first, lets say 100 images. As long as the canon is more expensive I recommend the Nikon D3200 cause of the lower price and the few small pros of these models... also I think the Nikon is much more beautiful and it is slightly bigger and believe me, when you go dslr size matters ;-) !

If you are learner just go with D3200, if you want to produce professional quality iamves go with Canon 550D Nikon D90, I am using Nikon D3200, one of my friend using Canon 550D, yesterday we made comparision by takeing few shots with same setttings/modes etc. by exchnaging our cameras, later we compared them by downloading in to computer , in the initial look seems both image quality was same/good, later when we Zoomed to 100% and see Canon was giving super quality pic, even 100% zoom i mages were not getting blur, I compared continuesly with all the images, Initially We doubt the lense was problem, i bought new lense of the same single lense and tested again, Seems its same problem, but its not the same with D90, Nikon D90 produces high quality images , Now I am confused, as I have to sell my D3200 and plannng to buy Canon, or D90, But D90 is little older version, so i am planning to buy Canon 550D

hi! i am considering to buy either the Canon 550D or the Nikon d3200. however, the initial feedback that i received from many people is that the CANON is better. however, based on the tech review, i find the Nikon for attractive. I am looking at real life, spontaneous pictures and need a suggestion on which one would be a better buy. Also, once i invest in filters & lenses, which one would work out to be cheaper?
