I have a 350D and my mate has the 500D. Must admit, the 500 is better to zoom in on whilst keeping the quality due to its amount of pixels and we both love the rear lcd panel, but we have both found the 350 is as much capable at taking photos, and in some conditions, better than the 500, perhaps due to its older ir filter. Both are awesome cameras for the price you can get them for now.
