When you spend that much money on a camera surely image quality is most important, yet cameras that offer better image quality seem to be coming in second place.

I have the X100 and a G11 and am looking at the G1X with interest.

A couple of points from the comparisons.
The X100 also has 12,800 ISO albeit for jpegs only.

More importantly the exposure figure for the X100 is way out. It has a BULB mode and can take exposures for up to 60 minutes, much longer than the 30s quoted.

I find myself in a win-win situation. I own both cameras - sort of. I have the G1X pre-ordered.
