Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P52 Photo #33 Central Lutheran Church, Portland, Oregon

The architect on this church was Pietro Belluschi. His most famous contribution (where he was a consulting designer) is most likely the Pan Am (now Met Life) Building in New York City. He designed several buildings in Oregon, many of which were churches. This one was built in about 1950. The church features a large curved brick wall at the north end. The tower at the southeast corner was build of wood and was damaged, by rot I am guessing, and has been removed. It used to reach twice the height of the main building.
