This camera has 1080/60i - not 1080/60p as described here.

The A640 is about $900.  you are comparing apples to oranges here.  For $900 you should be getting a lot more camera for the money.  Read the specs.

I bought this to replace the 10 Mega Pixel Canon A640 which was a huge mistake. This camera does not come close to the sharpness and picture detail that the A640 produces. I've been shooting and comparing all morning, the Sony has very bad color accuracy compared to the canon also. Don't go with the sony if you can get a Canon.

I just bought this camera and it is great. It takes decent pictures, and is portable.

This camera shoots 1080i, NOT 1080p.
