Best Camera I have ever owned... and I have owned plenty.
I initially got a 50D, and a ton of lenses, in rapid succession. I LOVED that camera, and through all the years of having multiple cameras, I could never justify using any other camera over the 50D.
Until... I bought a NEX-3 for pennies, and then bought adapter plates, to use legacy lenses.
I found that the NEX-3 was getting used WAAAAY more than my Trusty Canon, and I looked into an upgraded version.
To say the NEX-7 is a Step up from the NEX-3, is like saying a Corvette is a Step up from a Chevette. Both cameras get the job done, just one does it with such quality, that it makes you forget people struggle with making the right camera purchase.
Just to be 100% clear, I do not own a Single Sony NEX lens. The only Automatic focusing lens I have is for an Alpha that I have on the Alpha to Nex adapter thingy, which essentially turns the NEX into an oddly shaped DSLR, complete with Mirror and inability to sit flat on a table.
Every other piece of glass I own is 100% manual, and likely 20+ years old.
My go-to setup, is a Fujinon 50mm 1.2ƒ c-mount television lens from 1960-70. I have used this lens for the last 2 years on the NEX-3, and Could not wait to put it on the 7. I got a slight Vignette, almost negated, but absolutely usable.
Pairing this lens with the EXTREMELY low noise level of the ISO 16000 setting, and you can take pictures by candle light (1 LUMEN) and pass them off as semi-professional... with a little Lightroom, nobody would even notice the noise.
If you even consider buying this camera, do yourself a favor, and stop comparing. You either NEED this camera, or you need a 1Dx, or you need a bridge camera like the SX50HS. there is nothing else. well maybe a D800 ;)

I'm surprised that the current site mention that their is no image stabilisation. Some of the objectives are stabilised like the one on the picture. OSS means Optical Steady Shot!
I am worried about Image Stabilization aspect, can some one elaborate me on that? I am not really worried about "Touch Screen" options ... but worried about Image Stabilization option... when that's not well sought-out, how come this is a good model in comparison with its counter partz?
Thanks Joka, you're right, the Sony Nex-7 does shoot video in 24p, when the camera was first announced we couldn't find confirmation that it did. We'll have the specs updated shortly.
Thanks for pointing that out Stefano, I'll update the specs. According to Sony it looks like the Sony Nex-7 weight with battery and memory card is 350g.
Thanks for looking into that loan, it imaging resource confirms that it does have an external microphone jack. We'll update our specs.
"There's also an external stereo microphone jack, compatible with microphones including Sony's own ECM-CG50 Shotgun Mic and ECM-ALST1 Stereo Mic. A built-in monaural speaker caters to movie playback, and has an eight-step adjustable volume setting"

I have seen on some photos on the internet that the nex 7 has external mic capability. The photo of a nex 7 from one side shoes clearly the mic next to hdmi, usb and power input. Just thought you should know. The site where I have seen this picture is: >> http://www.stylereport.ro/hi-tech/sony-nex-7-24-de-megapixeli-10-cadre-pe-secunda-350-de-grame << (I know its not in english but search the side photo that show's the mic input or search the web)
I'm interested in the color depth of this magnificent product. Overall a very nice little gadget. Probably my next buy, but still waiting to see more field test of the product.
