Pentax K-50 Photo #5 Weakest Link

It can be surprising how small an object can transfer how large a force. When riding a bicycle, one often transfers a large force to the road in order to accelerate quickly or to climb a steep hill. It seems like the pedals, cranks and wheels take all this force. Of course the chain (on most bikes) transfers that force from the pedals to the wheels. The chain itself is made of several components. The smallest is the pins that hold the chain links together. The entire force of pedaling is taken by the chain pin. A tiny metal cylinder not much more than a millimeter in diameter. Sheer impressiveness!
