I find that this camera has good specs but lacks in terms of functions. There is no (as far as I could find out), shutter speed and aperture priority settings in manual to help customize on the shots to be taken (as opposed to older generation superzoom Olympus cameras). Also, maximum exposure time (which as far as I know, cannot be set manually) is quite short. The optics are good, however, low light shooting is nothing too impressive.

I bought this camera for a trip to AK, its a fantastic camera for the price. The zoom is simply amazing. However, you MUST have a steady hand or be patient and take a few shots if you're rushing it to avoid noise.

Eu comprei a Olympus SP-800 UZ, e posso te afirmar que a estabilização da imagem é péssima, o que eu acredito que ela tenha de bom é o zoom, que é incrível. O tamanho do sensor é o mesmo de uma camêra compacta comum e é utilizado CCD. Mas vá até uma loja e faça um texte nas duas.

I bought 800uz two months ago. I was looking for NIKON P100 but the price difference was quite high. 800uz provide very good features and more than enough for home use. Outdoor shooting is marvelous. Have a very good feature of Panorama shooting which is very user friendly. HD Video recording in also superb. I was very much amused with the quality of outdoor shoot in night (on street, on having the camera on stand). Overall it is a good camera. Off course the NIKON P100 is one step ahead but with a significant price tag.

I am planning to buy a digital camera in very short time which is having good picture quality , higher zoom, better performance. I have confusion between Olympus SP-800 Uz and Nikon P-100. which could be best option between these two ??
