Olympus has been making cameras since 1936 and is a leader in the digital camera market being one of the most prolific producer of digicams, Four-Thirds, Micro Four Thirds and digital SLRs. Olympus invented the Four-Thirds system, pioneered live view on DSLRs and co-invented the xD picture card standard with Fujifilm.
