Fantastic camera. Bought it right after launch, and with my 85mm 1,4 and 50mm 1,4 its a true winner! Even though its getting kind of "old" it still produces some of the sharpest images I have ever seen. Video is the one thing I miss, but Im hoping for a D800 with 1080p features.

We haven't heard much yet, but Nikon Rumors is predicting two new DSLRs from Nikon in August, maybe a D400 (D300 replacement) and D800 (D700 replacement)?

The Nikon D700 is now several years old. Any news on when an upgrade is expected
