True resolution True resolution
12.1 MP

True resolution is an estimate of how much detail the camera will capture given the size of its sensor, calculated by Snapsort. If there are too many pixels crammed into a small sensor, then they don't actually help. This is because as light from the subject is focused on the camera's sensor, it forms dots, and those if those dots are bigger than the pixels in the sensor, then multiple pixels will be getting the exact same light, which means those extra pixels were a waste.
