reviewsWhat are people saying about the D300S

"The D300S is not the standout product that its predecessor was and unless you find your clients are clamoring for video footage... that shouldn't take away from an absolutely excellent product - a gently polished and refined update of a product that we considered a benchmark when it was released."
dpreview.com | talking about the camera's overall-performance
"It is significantly improved over existing Nikon DSLRs. The biggest difference it that the camera can now use its contrast-detection autofocus system while shooting movies."
dpreview.com | talking about the camera's video-quality
"Excellent high ISO performance with low noise and good levels of detail"

I have a Nikon d300s, what I found was if your using it in low light and changing the cf memory card it is very easy to insert the new card the wrong way as I found much to my cost as it cost me over £200 to get it fixed as the guarantee does not cover this so you have to be very careful when changing that card, otherwise its a great camera

This camera is just amazing. Even though it is almost obsolete now, it still kicks ass! The only thing I don't like is that the noise becomes just horrible at ISO higher than 1600 - everything else is just perfect with this camera. But you can still take great photos even in low light using external flash. I really love my D300s, it is the product of superb quality and reliability.
