as badly as a lens cap keeper is needed, NO camera includes them, including the $1500+ DSLRs. If you have a Best Buy nearby stop there, you can get one for about 7 bucks.
Anybody ever heard of basic consumer user friendliness? I lost the lens cap the first day. Someone at Nikon deserves a bird brain design award for forgetting to add a dime's worth of string. In addition, the brick and mortar store I bought mine in, Micro Center Cambridge, not only didn't have a replacement but wouldn't order it for me. Next time I'll buy on-line to start and save myself the sales tax and my consumer loyalty to brick and mortar
The picture quality is terrible compared to other mirror-less, DSLR, or even higher quality point and shoots. The image stabilization system has a lot to be desired, and the pixels may be bigger than my Cannon A1000 IS, but the actual quality of the image is still somehow lower. Also, taking pictures while shooting a movie is awful... focus is always slightly closer than the object.
P.S. The examples on the Nikon website are 99.999% FAKE. I've tried every single combination of settings and could not achieve the desired effects. If you own a J1, please attempt to replicate the quality of the images.

As camera, we would like to see its photo quality and performance more than video. Most site focus on showing the video shooting capabilities of camera which their primary purpose is shooting photo, that what I don't understand why!
