i am planning to buy a nikon d series camera and have no previous experience of any kind of photography, i generally am interested in viewing far off subjects, but to mention here few kilometers aerial distance only and not that of like moon etc. please suggest me the camera along with a good lens which fits in as per my interest that lies in distant photography.

Forget the D7000 it has too many focusing problems, I had mine for 7 months then started to get irradicate focusing always searching for a focusing object going in and out and blurry images. Traded the D7000 for the basic D3100 and has had no problems what-so-ever!

I had the same doubt some time ago, i was between the D3100 and the D5100.. i've picked the D5100 and 2 years later i'm still happy with my desicion.. there's so much info on photography that you risk outgrowing a D3200 very soon.. i'll pick the D5200.. or even the D7100 if you can stretch..

Then directly jump to d600, then d700, then d800 ...
From a 400 dolars camera to 1000 one? My God :))))

I buy 1 yesterday, and is Much lighter that other great cameras. If u need a lighter camara and great performance, this is a great choise!

Is that really matter that D5200 has more focus point than D3200? I saw on the introduction vdo showing that d5200 has 3D-focus points.
