A german Foto magazine FotoMagazin descrides that the Fuji company will replace the sensor, because of the ORB

Please read the Amazon negative reviews and notice the mention of the "ORB" issues with this camera.   The reviews state that this camera will show any bright light as round ORB's.  Flicker has pictures showing this issue.   In my opinion, this is a big negative against this camera.

I don't think x10 has "in camera HDR"... It does have auto bracketing and some features that help with detail in light and shadow, but it does not create "HDR" images in camera.  It does have "best frame capture" which can take multiple shots and combine them... but that's not exactly the same thing, right?

I dont think the price wqill be coming down soon.Though a little finicky you can get pro images from this camera.
The best set up is in the customs menu to set a 400 iso and a 400 hdr  with JPG and RAW .'
You will only get a 6 mp photo but it will have true High Dynamic Range as the exr on this camera will balance the sensor using
the best combo . Sounds small but it is not some of the best pics I have ever taken was with a leica digilux 2 the Panasonic dmc-lc1 many still sell on ebay in the 1000 range and still used by many pro photographers. All you need is a great 6mp picture.
If you are a poit and shoot person set it on exr it will do the rest .But no RAW HERE thus the reason for the custom setting .
I will be surprised if Dpreview doesnt give it a gold award.

The price needs to drop by at least £100 [UK] but I LOVE the size and retro look. Having grown up with ... and still own... various 35mm cameras, my fingers are too big for tiny buttons, my eyesight not good enough for tiny screens and, best of all, this HAS A VIEWFINDER so that it can be used even in bright sunshine. [We have plenty of it here on the Kent coast!] Looking forward to 'hands on' soon.

Because of it design, and probaly the supposed ImageQuelity because of the 2/3 sensor instead of the 1/1.7 as you mentioned.
Of course its not so populair, because this camera is not available yet
