I don't understand why the Nikon D3200 costs $429.00 and they call it "Unexpensive", and this camera is only $342.95 and they marked it "Expensive". Makes no sense.

I purchased this camera a couple months ago. It took a while to get used to all the different things you can set and adjust on it. And there's a lot! Love the manual zoom. It's so fast when getting on target (and getting back on target if you lose it). Caught many pics with it that my Nikon P500 would have missed (less than half a second to full zoom vs about three seconds...not to mention the difference in start up time). It starts very fast. It focuses very fast. And almost zero shutter lag. The tracking focus is a neat feature. So is the eye sensor. It's the superzoom bridge that I've always wanted. I wonder if it gets the girls?

Yes the Fuji has a much longer list of "plus" factors, than the Canon, and yet Snapshot rate it higher!

After reading this review/advertisement for Canon your site has lost all credibility with me. I no longer trust anything I read here. You are either in the pocket of Canon or are just plain incompetent. Which is it?

its a good camera with better sensor - larger and and also true high resolution - makes a good buy - if one is to make full use i feel buying addl accessories is a must like external mic flash and tele photo lens attachment - wonder how much it cost the camera cost around 27500 in india - any vies pls

Hi Jderrico, thanks for the great feedback and info on the cameras!

Our comparisons of compact cameras are mostly spec based, unlike our comparisons of DSLRs which include actual image quality and performance benchmarks, so I'm glad you're hear to fill in some of the gaps, thanks.

Hopefully its obvious, but we never had and never will bias our reviews to any particular brand.

Would you recomend this one or the canon or sony hx300?
I'm really hesitating

Oh yes Playboy pix man also said the fuji hs 50 is the best built bridge camera in the world to date. Also added that its bigger & heavy because its built better than any other bridge camera on the current market. Good day gentlemen....!!

I have a buddy ..a pro pix man from playboy magazine tell me he owns the fuji hs 50. He compaired it to every other bridge camera on earth and says the fuji is by all rights the best in the world to date. Maybe a pro is Wrong. ? Lol....

The Canon gets over 1/3 of its total points (100 out of 295) solely on the non-objective score for "popularity". The Canon also gets 15 more points than the Fuji because it has an image quality score. Well, the Fuji is capable of saving images in RAW format; it just hasn't been tested yet. If it ends up scoring the same as the Canon for image quality, and if you take away the "popularity" ranking, the Fuji will have an higher overall score.

Please do an objective comparison than just comparing specs and giving a bias view.

Hasn't a criticism of Fuji cameras been a poor ability to autofocus versus other cameras such as Sony? How do you compare that between different camera models and vendors? You can't really judge that until you actually use the camera, can you?

Hi , All the Fujifilm Superzoom cameras have been at the top of the heap since the HS10 , if Snap sort would do a proper comparo and leave out "popularity" this would always be the case , The HS50 is a true King of the lastest range of SuperZooms all other Camera sites agree 100% .....................but Not Snapsort ............ why ?

In one review about Canon SX50HS, it was stated that the zoom control is very good as it is motorised because the manual zoom is prone to producing shakes esp at high zoom levels. So, in case of this one, as the zoom is fully manual, is it not a disadvantage? some expert view is highly solicited.

it seems snapsort crew only favors cameras made by nikon and canon.. what gives?

I know that fujifilm here in canada is not that popular compare to canon and nikon but With this model 50exr release this jan 2013 With lots of unique feature good prize i think it's approved deal!

I think that the 'Cons' for this camera have three pertaining to the same thing? Heavy + Very Large + Thick all equate to its overall size. Expensive is not necessarily a bad thing, considering that you normally get what you pay for. It's still leaps and bounds cheaper than that of a good DSLR with comparable features. I really believe that this type of camera has come a long way from when I purchased my Nikon Coopix some eleven years ago. And, putting it up against Nikon's latest Coopix P510 and Canon's SX50, there seemed to be no contest...according to the critics. So your homework before purchasing a camera that incorporates all that this one does, and I believe it will add up to the list price. My opinion!!

Could you adjust your page and score for the Fuji HS50 as it *does* have a flip-out screen (As seen in the pictures and promo video). Thanks.
