Casio is a Japanese electronic manufacturer, founded in 1946, well known for its keyboards, calculators, watches and digital cameras. Casio has been a leader in many areas of electronics, including the development of the first electric compact calculator. Unlike many of its Japanese competitors Casio did not get a big start in selling cameras post WWII but instead jumped aboard the digital camera revolution. Casio was the first to incorporate a display screen into a digital camera. Their Exilim line, introduced in 2002, brought extremely thin cameras to market offering thicknesses of only 11mm compared more than half of their many rivals. Casio also pioneered the introduction of high speed photography to their line of cameras allowing up to 1200FPS videos. Casio only produces digicams and within that segment they focus on mid to high end compact cameras with great feature sets.
