I've had this camera for over 2 years now, and I must say that it has served me very well. The two features it has that have been useful to me beyond what I expected are the supermacro mode and the zoom. Many times when getting very close up the macro mode just wouldn't do it; so I'd switch to supermacro and all of a sudden everything would clear up. I would not have gotten many many shots if not for the supermacro mode. The 12x zoom is also an amazingly useful feature. Being that I was previously using a camera with a 4x zoom, I was assuming that I wouldn't really need all that zoom, and it would just be a dormant plus. But I fell in love with it. I was able to take photos I never would have been able to otherwise; the zoom just goes and goes and it is definitely my favorite feature and the most pleasant surprise. To all those who feel fine with a 4 or 5x zoom, don't underestimate how much the 12x zoom can change your life
